Tryna be a Stunna

Hello !

I am back with a much more weather appropriate outfit from the past. As I am writing this there's supposed to be 12-15 inches of snow expected tomorrow. If you have read my Pink ! blog post you know that one of my best friends Kaila, gave me a muted pink t-shirt that I am obsessed with, she also gave me this sweater. Kaila is always trying to get me to step outside my comfort zone (black and grey) and wear more color. I am forever grateful for that.

This is a sweater I have had my eye on an age but I couldn't bring myself to take the plunge and buy it.  Red has been the color of the past Fall and Winter, and it is still going strong for Spring. I've had my eye on a pair of red checked Vans (I'm wearing them as I write this blog post) but I couldn't see how I was going to work it into my capsule wardrobe, so that held me back. While red can be used as a pop of color to an otherwise neutral-colored outfit, for example, blue jeans paired with a red knit and black sneakers or loafers. I didn't think it was color for me.

I was wrong.

This sweater. First off, it's huge ! The sleeves are huge, and its so warm I have already worn on both Christmas and to travel, to and from school. It barely fits under my coat but I love it so much anyway. It has a super tall huge roll neck that looks good rolled up or down.  This tone of red is amazing, it makes my skin look ULTRA brown and chocolaty, which is always a good thing.

These pictures were taken at Christmas but since I've been back at school I have worn it both dressed down with black jeans and my Doc Martens (I've had since I was 15 and have recently fallen in love with again) and a little more dressed up with black trousers and my patent faux leather ankle boots. The boots also come in a Navy blue with a green removable pom pom. I took the pom poms off and put them on some of my nights out bags. Having pom poms on the back of my boots just isn't for me but if you're into that these are super cute and soft.

I'm kind of obsessed with how this sweater looks with light blue or true blue jeans and black loafers. (hint, hint future blog post hint, hint)

Is there any color or pattern or just item of clothing that you have sworn off in the past and are now finding yourself drawn too? Let me know !
